San Juan County Public Lands Story Contest
The Charles Redd Center for Western Studies is conducting a writing/visual contest to learn about and
share the experiences that local residents have had on public lands (federal lands managed by the Bureau
of Land Management, Forest Service, and National Park Service) within the county. You are invited to
submit written or visual entries that describe your experiences on, memories of, and ties to our public
lands. These could include personal essays, poetry, photographs, artwork, or other information that is
written or visual. The Redd Center will give cash prizes for the best entries. Judging will be in three
age categories: children, young adults, and adults.
